Trash the Dress!

So I've pretty much decided - no matter how much money I spend on my wedding dress, I don't care, I'm trashing it and hiring a photographer to capture every moment. For those of you who aren't familiar, "trash the dress" is just that - when the bride trashes her dress after the wedding, be it by jumping into a pool with her bridesmaids, crawling through the beach sand with her newly wedded husband, wandering through the deserts of western US, rolling around in colored paint or mud, or even setting it on fire:

I mean, what's the point of saving it? It's not like my daughter will actually want to wear it when she gets married. You tell yourself that your daughter will, but unless she's an emotional, socially awkward, homebody, the chances are slim. Especially if your dress is dated. I don't think I could be paid to wear my mom's wedding dress for my own wedding. It's not that it was ugly; in fact, it was a nice dress. It was just so...1980s. And why keep it for any other reason? It's pointless. Even having it cleaned and sealed doesn't guarantee that it withstands time. It's just going to sit in my closet and take up room. I feel like this could be a very liberating experience. Like it says on Trash the Dress (http://www.trashthedress.com), it's a great way of showing your husband how committed you are - that you have no intentions of every wedding again. Also, I'm a huge pack rat, and I still have several years worth of formal gowns that I've worn once and refuse to wear again, but refuse to give away. However, the biggest reason all of all - it makes for some pretty badass photos. I think I'm willing to spend more on my Trash the Dress photos than I am for the actual wedding photography. My favorite photos are the ones taken on the beach. They're absolutely romantic:

I really want to hire Chelsea Nicole, who is based in Nevada. Her Trash the Dress photography is absolutely amazing, and I definitely believe she's worth flying out to wherever Bruno and I have our honeymoon. I mean, look at this:

Love it.
